Having long hair is romantic, dreamy, and stunning…just look on Instagram.
What Instagrammers/Bloggers/Vloggers rarely if ever document is the absolute rats nest long hair can turn into if you aren’t on top of your game with regards to hair care.
Hi, my name is Elizabeth, and I have had dreadful looking long hair multiple times in my life. I’ve had to cut impossibly trying tangles out. I’ve spent hours obsessively peeling and trimming my split ends. I’ve given up the ghost when it comes to maintaining long hair and decided to do my hair dresser a favor and just let them chop it (almost) all off.
But no longer. So, what changed? One, I bought a quality brush with boar bristles. Two, I adopted a hair routine rather than just ‘let’s throw it up in a bun and see what happens, shall we?’.
I plan to go into further detail of my hair care process in a future post, but for now, I want to share my holy grail hair product. It is the H’Suan Wen HUA hair treatment by Lush Cosmetics. It’s amazing, I promise.
How to use it…
- Brush your hair before you use this (I recommend using a boar bristle brush) to make sure you have fully detangled your hair.
- Apply this mask to dry hair. It is not intended for applying and rinsing in the shower like conditioner. This mask needs to sit in your hair for at least 20 minutes. (Personally, I love applying it to my hair, placing my hair in a bun and leaving the mask on while I do housework).
- Once you are ready to shower, you bathe as your normally would and make sure the mask rinses out after you shampoo/condition as usual.
Results…
- My hair is naturally very fine in texture and tends to split easily. This texture, combined with long length and a history of highlights/color leaves my hair predisposed to splitting and become quite frizzy at the ends.
- This mask helps combat the frizziness, increases the natural shine of my hair, and leaves a nice overall smoothness behind. The results last for days as my frizziness remains much lower than usual and my hair is much more manageable and less prone to tangling.
I have never used a hair mask before that has left with me noticeable results for multiple days after using it. This product is worth every penny to me. It lasts about 2-3 months and I try to use it at least once a week. Before purchasing it, make sure that you are okay with the smell. It has a bit of a cinnamon and cardamom-like scent to it that took me a minute to get adjusted too but now, I adore.
Give this amazing little mask a try if you’re looking for something nurturing for long hair. If you have tried this product already, let me know what you thought of it!
Cheers to strong and healthy hair!
Love,
Elizabeth
