Kylie Cosmetics KoKo Kollection: yay or nay?

As of 11/17/16 at 1 PM PST, Kylie Cosmetics will re-launch the sold out matte lip and gloss limited edition set that was created with her sister, Khloe Kardashian. I was able to snag this set when it initially launched, and have had some time to wear and swatch the shades.

The Shades…

Okurrr“(Bright medium toned pink matte)

Khlo$” (Cool toned nude matte)

Gorg” (Deep red wine color matte)

Damn Gina” (a peachy-pink clear shimmer gloss)

Can we get a moment of silence for these names? I’m laughing as I type these. They are everything. 🙂

Pigment…

Okurr and Khlo$ are richly pigmented and apply smoothly with one coat. Gorg was a little patchy (not unusual for darkly pigmented shades) but does great if you use a lip liner as your base coat.

Damn Gina, the only gloss in the set, is fairly sheer and has great coverage. It’s not grainy with glitter but packs a ton of shimmer that is pretty worn alone or on top of other lip colors to jazz things up.

Scent…

All of these lip products have the seem vanilla-cupcake esque scent of Kylie’s other lip products. The scent does dry down but…it does linger a bit which I like but some people might not love.

Do they last…

Yes! I found that these shades lasted all day (and I even took a nap with the heart swatches…woke up and they were perfectly intact—except for the gloss which I had removed prior to napping). The matte shades require minimal reapplication after eating and drinking.

The value…

If you order now (assuming they are in stock) you’re paying $40 plus free shipping for 4 full size products. Normally Kylie’s matte singles are $17 and her glosses are $15. This kit has a total value of $66. This kit saves you $26 plus the shipping (which is normally around $8 for USA customers.

Bottom Line…

I like Kylie’s lip products and I think this is a fun lip collection for year round as well as the holidays. The nude shade is beautiful and can be worn daily. The pink shade is fun for summer, Valentines Day, or any time you want a bolder pink look. The deep wine shade is perfect for the colder weather and holiday season…and the gloss can go with anything.

If you like the shades included in this kit, I’d say go for it.

Have you tried any of Kylie’s products before? What did you think?

Lots of Love,

Elizabeth
