I found Suva Beauty on Instagram a few months ago. I searched for them after watching a makeup tutorial where Jeffree Star used their Hydra Liners.

Products I purchased:
- Hydra Liner: (Chrome) Rose Gold $11
- Neutral Necessity Eye Shadow Palette: $49.95
- The Hussle Eye Shadow Palette: $29.95
- Single Shimmer Shadow:
- Cherry Cola $11
- Tropic $11
Purchasing Experience:
I placed my Suva Beauty order online on December 26, 2017. I immediately received a confirmation email detailing my order and stating that it would take 1-2 business days for my order to process. On December 27th, I received a quick email from the CEO of Suva Beauty, Shaina Azad, thanking me for my business and providing me with links to both Suva Beauty’s snapchat and instagram. On December 28th, I received a confirmation email that my order had shipped. This email also contained a link with order tracking information. I anticipated the shipping process being long as the products ship from the Vancouver, BC area and I live on the opposite side of the country (North Carolina). On December 31st, I received an email that my Suva Beauty order was out for delivery. All in all, the customer service process was amazing and I felt like even with me ordering on the night of December 26th and it being during the holiday season when many businesses are understaffed or not open, I was able to receive my complete order within 5 short days.
Product Arrival:
My order arrived in a flat box (similar to what you receive when ordering text books off Amazon). All the products were securely wrapped with bubble wrap and the space within the box was filled with soft packing peanuts. My order contained Suva Beauty cards with details about the eyeshadow palettes I had ordered. There was also a card stating that I had been “Suvafied” and had my name handwritten on it thanking me for my purchase. I was highly pleased with the way my makeup was boxed and everything made the cross country journey in one piece.
First Impressions:
- Packaging feels high quality and the designs on the outside of the palettes are artistic and eye-catching. I am a fan!
- Utility: In terms of the eyeshadow palettes, they are VERY similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palettes, which I love. Each eyeshadow pan can easily be removed so that if you ever hit pan, you may remove and replace the pan. Also, this palette structure allows for personalizing your palettes and swapping out various shadows. The palette is thin (but not too thin) and perfect for travel.
- Eyeshadow pans are MASSIVE (4.0 g of 0.14 oz)
- Palettes have magnetic closures and a mirror (again, perfect for those on the go).
- The palette is black which is something I prefer as light colored palettes become dirty and grungy looking once shadows transfer onto them.
Claims:
- Website states that the eyeshadows have built in primer. ( I do not know much about this as I always use a primer prior to shadow application).
- Website states “Highest grade of pigmentation available”
The Neutral Necessity Palette ($49.95)
Neutral Necessity Swatches:
Top Row (Left to Right):
Prohibition Pub, Turkish Bath, Lock Bridge and Shanghai Nights (the one shimmer finish shadow in the palette).
Bottom Row (Left to Right):
Night Market, Islander, Hookah and Madrid.
*Often times, dark red/plum based mattes are difficult to work with/dry. Hookah is as smooth and buttery as the other mattes with beautiful pigmentation.
Overall Impressions:
- The Neutral Necessity color selection is both timeless with the selection of essential neutrals as well as current with a few nods to top trends on shadow shades. You see both a peach shade (giving nod to the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette craze) as well as a beautiful wine tone that reminds me of the cult favorite, Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. This palette has enough neutrals to create a beautiful work or going out look while also having colors that will make it look like you carried more eyeshadow palettes with you than just one to make a complete eye look.
- The NN formula was impressive particularly as this is a mostly matte palette. These are all matte shades, save for one, and they applied smoothly with only mild fallout. These shadows are soft and easy to apply and the color payoff becomes richer and more intense upon blending (rather than fading or becoming dull and muddy).
The Hussle Palette ($29.95)
The Hussle Swatches
Top Row (Left to Right):
Gastown Grind, The 6ix
Bottom Row (Left to Right):
Empire State, City of Angels
Overall Impressions:
- The color selection: These colors are beautiful. This palette is a wonderful 4 pan palette to bring with the Neutral Necessity to help create dramatic, metallic looks. I do not do a full metallic eye look ever so I can’t see myself using these 4 colors all together with no mattes for balance. However, I do think that with the color range, it could be done. Also the top colors (bronze and gold) go well together and the bottom colors (a cool pinky silver and a rich plum-purple with hints of pink) are absolutely gorgeous together. Overall, these colors could easily be used with various eyeshadow palettes, especially the Suva Beauty Neutral Necessity Palette.
- The formula is incredibly rich. It reminds me of Morphe pressed pigments but even richer. Application with the finger is what I would find to be my preferred method, however you can use a dense synthetic brush. These shadows when applied to the eye blend out beautifully if you want a less intense look.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchases from Suva Beauty. The shadows are pigmented, smooth and have build-able color, allowing you to control how intense you want your eye shadow look to be. (I will be updating once I try the Hydra Liner, which is wildly popular).
Neutral Necessity Palette Grade: A
The Hussle Palette: A
I would recommend both of these products and I would also purchase from Suva Beauty again in the future.
Have you tried Suva Beauty before? If so, what did you try and what were your thoughts?
